About us
Donato Cirella, with 40 years of experience
in textiles, has turned his passion into a mission: to elevate Italian
craftsmanship. His story begins in Pomarico, in the province of Matera, where
knitwear is a deeply rooted tradition. By founding Denì Service 27 years ago, he promoted the economic and cultural
growth of his hometown. Starting from the art of unraveling wool yarns, he transformed them into
masterpieces of cashmere knitwear. With the brand “Texture – New Visions of
Textile”, he creates tapestries, plaids, shawls, and cushions inspired by
Matera.
We design and produce clothing and
accessories in cotton, wool, and wool-cashmere blends, all fully customizable. We can faithfully reproduce any photo through knit weaving, meticulously
transforming pixels into stitches. This process gives each product
extraordinary quality and refinement, making the image an integral part of the
fabric and ensuring durability over time.

The hashtag #faccioplaid identifies us and
comes directly from the Italian TV show 'I Soliti Ignoti – Il Ritorno'. In
2022, Donato Cirella appeared as one of the 'mystery guests' whose profession
was literally 'he makes plaids'. On that occasion, he gifted host Amadeus with
an original textile portrait.
The one who makes PLAIDS even created a framed artwork with plaid fabric. This is not a painting—it’s actually the plaid fabric itself shaped as a picture. Thank you! Congratulations also for the beautiful PLAID depicting the city of Matera!Donato is a programmer specialized in knitwear textile machines. He creates the weaving file on the computer—whether it’s a design or a photo to be reproduced. Then he sets up the yarn on the machine and starts the production of the PLAID in wool-cashmere blend… and off it goes. These PLAIDS are truly beautiful!
